Quintessential Brands Group was one of the big winners at this year’s International Spirits Challenge (ISC) awards ceremony, walking away with the prestigious Gin Distiller of The Year Trophy.
With the gin phenomenon around the world showing no sign of abating, Quintessential Brands Group’s position as the forerunner of the gin category, driving its continued success worldwide, was recognised by the ISC as the Gin Distiller of the Year Trophy was presented to co-founders, Warren Scott and Enzo Visone, joined by Liquid Development Manager at G&J Distillers, Dermot Hegarty. It is the third time Quintessential Brands has been awarded the Gin Distiller of the Year title by the ISC, following wins in 2015 and 2016.
Many of the gin brands within the company’s branded portfolio, which includes Greenall’s, the Original Handcrafted Gin, Opihr Gin, BLOOM Gin, Thomas Dakin Small Batch Gin and Berkeley Square Gin, were also recognised for their quality by the ISC, with gold medals for BLOOM & Fentimans Rose Lemonade RTS and the recently-launched Opihr Gin & Tonic.
Speaking at the awards dinner last week, Warren Scott, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Quintessential Brands Group, stated: “Seven years ago, we set out to create an independent, international spirits business, respected for both its enviable portfolio of premium brands and our world-class manufacturing capabilities. To have been awarded Gin Distiller of the Year by a respected industry body like the ISC three times since then, and for our commercial products to now be winning trophies and recognised as best-in-class in their categories, is a real honour and is a source of great pride for us.”
“These awards are testament to the dedication and hard work of so many within our business but particularly to the team at G&J Distillers who work tirelessly to produce spirits of outstanding quality for consumers to enjoy worldwide. As such, I was delighted that Dermot Hegarty, our Liquid Development Manager at G&J Distillers, travelled down to join us to celebrate this fantastic achievement and I’m looking forward to continuing the celebrations with the whole G&J team in Warrington this week.”
Christian Davis, editor of Drinks International, comments; “Quintessential Brands’ rise over the last seven years has been impressive to watch. In a category that has become as crowded as gin has, winning Gin Distiller of the Year is a fantastic achievement, but with their gins showing such great consistency, they are very deserving winners. It’s fair to say Quintessential Brands is one of the most exciting drinks companies to emerge out of the last decade and they’re definitely one to watch in the years ahead.”
