Quintessential Brands Group, the award-winning spirits producer and owner of the world’s oldest continuous gin distillery, G&J Distillers, is delighted to announce Double Gold medals for two premium brands.
The richly aromatic Opihr Gin, infused with botanicals sourced from the Spice Route, scored 96 points in the prestigious, blind-tasting San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2026, as did the distinctly fragrant, floral and citrus gin, Bloom.
The San Francisco World Spirits Competition is the oldest and largest competition of its kind, according to the organisation and being awarded a medal is an incredible global achievement. Double Gold is achieved when every judge in this prestigious blind-tasting competition unanimously awards a gold-level score.
Both gins were created by our Master Distiller, Joanne Moore, who this year celebrates 30 years with Quintessential Brands and recently won the Icons of Drinks’ Master Distiller of the Year 2026. These accolades follow success for both brands in the 2025
Spirits Masters awards. Opihr achieved the highest Master award in the Global Gin Masters. Meanwhile, Bloom was recognised with a trio of Golds in the Global Gin Masters, Global Retail Masters and Global Design & Packaging Masters.
This year, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition gin category welcomed 320 gin entries, with around 18% scoring Gold and 15% scoring Double Gold. Only three other UK brands achieved Double Gold: Tanqueray (London Dry Gin and No.Ten), Plymouth (Navy Strength and Sloe Gin) and Martin Miller’s Westbourne Gin.
