Quintessential Brands Group, the award-winning spirits producer and owner of the world’s oldest continuous gin distillery, G&J Distillers, and The Dublin Liberties Distillery, takes two gold medals at this year’s San Francisco World Spirits Competition for Bloom London Dry Gin and Dubliner Bourbon Cask Irish Whiskey.
The San Francisco World Spirits Competition is the oldest and largest competition of its kind, according to the organisation and being awarded a medal is an incredible global achievement.
This year, the gin category welcomed 320 gin entries where 114 scored Gold or better. Bloom London Dry Gin (40% ABV) was recognised for its unique flavour profile derived from botanicals including chamomile, honeysuckle and pomelo. BLOOM London Dry Gin is a distinctively light and floral gin, with a touch of sweetness that has become a firm favourite among the new gin-eration of drinkers.
There were fewer blended Irish whiskey entries, 31, and only seven received Gold or Double Gold. Among them was Dubliner Bourbon Cask Irish Whiskey (40% ABV). This blended Irish whiskey is warm and versatile, aged in bourbon casks, giving it a smooth finish. The whiskey has notes of vanilla and orchard fruits, followed by honey and caramel and a slight pepper finish. Perfect neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail.
