Award-winning international spirits company, Quintessential Brands, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan Edge as Group HR Director and Roger Lowe as Chief Finance Officer for Quintessential Brands Group.
Joining the company from Ideal Standard (UK & Ireland), Edge brings considerable experience in organisational change, employee engagement, talent and performance management. Having previously held senior positions at global FMCG companies including Nestle and Imperial Tobacco, Edge will play a vital role in shaping the company’s HR strategy as the Group looks to further optimise in line with its global ambitions in the years ahead.
The company has also appointed Roger Lowe as Chief Finance Officer for Quintessential Brands Group, a promotion from his former position as UK CFO. Since joining Quintessential Brands in January 2018, Lowe has played an integral role in the development of the Group’s finance function to support its global growth strategy and in his new role, Lowe takes responsibility for leading the Group’s global finance function to meet its high growth ambitions.
Both Edge and Lowe join Quintessential Brands Group’s Executive team at an exciting time for the business following its recent expansion into North America and on the back of impressive success in the UK market, where it is the clear no.2 supplier to the Off-Trade. Their appointments follow on from that of drinks industry veteran, James Lousada, who joined the company in January this year to lead the company’s commercial products division, Quintessential Brands Spirits Solutions.
Warren Scott, CEO and Co-Founder of Quintessential Brands, comments: “Nearly eight years into the Quintessential Brands journey, we are now at a pivotal moment as we look to accelerate our global growth strategy. We’ve seen phenomenal success in the UK where we have been at the forefront of the gin trend, and with the Dublin Liberties Distillery, we’ve shown that we’re a real contender in Irish Whiskey. The next stage in Quintessential Brands Group’s development is to drive further international growth and both Jon and Roger will play important roles in making that happen. Both bring significant experience, skill and passion and I’m delighted to welcome them to the Quintessential Brands team.”
Quintessential Brands has undergone significant growth since it was established in 2011 with the acquisition of G&J Distillers, and today, the group is the second largest spirits distributor to the UK Off-Trade. Gin innovation has been central to the company’s recent success with successful premium brands Bloom, Opihr and Thomas Dakin developed and launched by the company, alongside iconic brand, Greenall’s, driving value into the gin category. The company’s uncompromising commitment to quality has also contributed to its success with Quintessential Brands being awarded International Spirits Challenge Gin Producer of the Year 2018, following previous wins in 2014, 2015 and 2016, while each of its Irish whiskeys has received at least one gold medal in the last 12 months.
2019 has seen the company launch The Dublin Liberties Distillery, as well as launching a standalone importer business in North America and a contender to the Irish cream throne, Skinny Moo.
