News Release

Warrington – 20 June 2014

Greenall’s The Original London Dry Gin announces the second year of its cricket sponsorship, which will renew in July this year.  Following a highly successful 12 months as the Official Gin of the Lancashire County Cricket Club (LCCC) at Emirates Old Trafford, Greenall’s is delighted to collaborate once again to bring two Great British traditions together – cricket and the G&T.

2013 saw Greenall’s, the UK’s No. 2 standard gin, embark on its first ever sports sponsorship at Emirates Old Trafford.  It was a natural choice for the brand, bringing a famous North West England sporting institution, celebrating its 150th Anniversary this year, together with the UK’s original gin, first created in the North West over 250 years ago.

Sinead O’Frighil, Greenall’s International Brand Manager says; “We’ve been very happy with our collaboration with LCCC over the past year.  We have been able to bring VIP clients from the UK and international Greenall’s markets to experience one of the finest British traditions; a day at the cricket, whilst enjoying one of the nation’s favourite drinks.  We have also seen the popularity of Greenall’s behind the bar, doing very well as the pouring gin in the club.”

Geoff Durbin, Commercial Director at Lancashire County Cricket Club says; “We are delighted that Greenall’s has decided to renew its sponsorship for another year and continue to feel that it is a perfect fit for us.  With the England v India Investec Test Match taking place from 7–11 August, it will be a great opportunity for our Emirates Old Trafford customers to enjoy a Greenall’s Gin & Tonic or two.”
