GREENALL’S GIN LAUNCHES FIRST FLAVOURED LIQUEURS COLLECTION

Greenall’s, the Original Handcrafted British Gin, is proud to announce the global launch of Greenall’s Green Apple & Hibiscus and Greenall’s Blood Orange, Fig & Ginger, two brand-new, gin liqueurs made by renowned Master Distiller, Joanne Moore, at the historic G&J Greenall’s distillery in Warrington.

The launch of Greenall’s Gin Liqueurs is the first foray by Greenall’s, the Original Handcrafted Gin since 1761, into the flavoured gin liqueur category which is currently gathering pace around the world .

Greenall’s Gin Liqueurs have launched this week [w/c 11th June 2018] in Travel Retail and will be sold exclusively through World Duty Free in June and July before being made available to other domestic markets from August 2018 . Both variants have an ABV of 20% and a recommended retail price of £18.50 / €20 / US$22.

The inspiration for the two variants came from Joanne’s desire to fuse quintessentially British flavours, in keeping with Greenall’s rich heritage, with more modern flavours, reflecting the botanicals Greenall’s sources carefully from around the world.

The crisp green apple, synonymous with English summers, is balanced with the sweet-sour tanginess of hibiscus. The intense Blood Orange is cut with the luscious sweetness from fig and the zesty spiciness of ginger. Both liqueurs are balanced so the fruit and spice flavours come to the fore with the classic Greenall’s gin notes coming through in the finish.

Greenall’s Green Apple & Hibiscus and Greenall’s Blood Orange, Fig & Ginger are presented in a new 50cl bottle size to appeal to new gin drinkers and to encourage established gin drinkers to consider branching out from standard gin and trying something new from a trusted brand. The bottles use coloured glass to evoke the colours of the dominant fruits used in these two variants. The labels also showcase the ingredients, adding further aesthetic appeal.

Rob Curteis, International Marketing Director of Greenall’s Gin, comments “As the original handcrafted British gin first created in 1761, Greenall’s is the original pioneer of quality gin. Had Greenall’s never been made, it’s quite possible the gin category wouldn’t be the success it is today. A pioneer never rests on their laurels though – innovation is key to bringing new consumers into the category and with our long-standing reputation as the original handcrafted British gin, we are excited to be introducing a whole new audience to quality gin with Greenall’s Gin Liqueurs.”

Joanne Moore, Master Distiller for Greenall’s, adds “It was important to me that with these new Greenall’s Gin Liqueurs, we gave consumers who are new to gin a great first experience to whet their appetite, giving them a taste of gin, but softening it with a lower ABV and appealing complimentary flavours. We’ve put a lot of care into the development of these liqueurs and I can’t wait to see how they are received by Greenall’s fans – new and old – around the world.”

Greenall’s Gin Liqueurs can be enjoyed over ice, with tonic, with sparkling wine or in cocktails.
