Greenall’s Gin Weighs In With Jockeys’ Colours for On Pack Promotion

News Release

Warrington – 15 April 2016

Greenall’s The Original London Dry Gin has launched a national on-pack promotion leveraging their partnership with British Horse Racing as the Official Gin of The Jockey Club; featuring three eye-catching on-pack designs, celebrating British racing.

This off-trade promotion from Quintessential Brands, owners of Greenall’s Gin, offers consumers two free tickets to the Races with every bottle of Greenall’s Gin purchased in store at UK major retailers.  This is the second year of the Greenall’s ‘Good Times at the Races’ marketing campaign, launched in 2015.

The Greenall’s neck tags are available in store on each 70cl and 1 litre bottle of Greenall’s Gin in all major multiple retailers, including Tesco, from the start of the promotion on 1st May through to 24th August 2016.  The offer of free tickets is made possible by Greenall’s three year partnership with The Jockey Club, owners of 15 of the UK’s leading racecourses, where the brand is the official and exclusive gin.

Tickets are worth up to £80 and include key race meets such as the Investec Epsom Derby.  Entry to the competition is via a unique code entered onwww.greenallsgoodtimes.co.uk

Greenall’s Gin and the Jockey Club are offering a total of 42,000 free tickets to the Races as part of their Good Times sponsorship campaign, facilitating the fun of a quintessentially British day out and appealing to a millennial audience.

Lizzy Johnson, Global Brand & Marketing Director at Quintessential Brands, says:  “We are excited about entering the second year of our sponsorship with the Jockey Club and look forward to enabling even more Greenall’s consumers to have a good time at the races. Just under half a million single serves of Greenall’s were sold at Jockey Club events last year, a testament to the effectiveness of the partnership between two stalwart British brands; both formed in the mid 1700s and both pioneers in their industries.”

Notes to Editors

Greenall’s The Original London Dry Gin was first distilled in 1761 by the world’s oldest gin distillers, in Warrington, Cheshire. The recipe remains a secret to this day and has been passed down through only seven generations of Master Distillers to Joanne Moore, custodian of the Greenall’s recipe, who is celebrating her 10th Anniversary as Master Distiller in 2016.

Greenall’s Gin entered into a three year partnership with The Jockey Club in 2015 and is investing a total of £3 million in sponsorship and marketing activity over the period, reaching a potential audience of over 2 million via on-course branding, the Greenall’s Land Rover Defender and marketing and PR activity across channels.

Greenall’s The Original London Dry Gin is owned by The Quintessential Brands Group.
