Notes to Editors
Toussaint was first developed in Haiti and is now produced in the world-renowned G&J Distillers distillery in England, which has over 250 years’ experience distilling premium spirits. Production has moved to the UK to ensure a reliable supply and consistent quality.
G&J Distillers’ Master Distiller Joanne Moore, worked on the evolution of the recipe for the new Toussaint. Joanne has brought up the coffee notes using quality Arabica coffee and has added aged Caribbean rum. She had ten rums to choose from and selected a three year old rum as well as spending time with a coffee smith to select the finest Arabica coffee.
Toussaint takes its name from the Haitian slave leader, Toussaint L’Ouverture, who was famed throughout the Caribbean. His name inspired the passion of a nation and conjures up the ‘dark mysteries’ of Haiti.
