International spirits company, Quintessential Brands Group, is extending its partnership with leading yacht charter holiday company, Sunsail, as Opihr Gin is today confirmed as a founding sponsor of Sunsail’s new UK yacht fleet.
The new fleet, which was announced yesterday at a launch event in Port Solent, will see 25 new Jeanneau 410 yachts introduced by 2021. As a founding sponsor, Opihr sponsors ‘The Spirit of Opihr’, one of the first of the new boats.
Based at Port Solent in Hampshire, the new fleet will be available for charters and racing regattas on the UK’s south coast. The newest members of Sunsail’s expansive fleet will be available for charter at all major UK sailing events, including Cowes Week, Round the Island Race, Little Britain Challenge Cup and Southampton Sailing Week.
Opihr Gin, which has been an active sponsor of the sailing community for the last two years, is proud to be continuing its association with SunSail and will be supporting the wider sailing community
throughout the season, fielding a crew at Cowes Week for the second year running in the Sunsail Match First 40. The Opihr Ocean Racing team for 2019 will once again be skippered by Malcolm Strang, with Quintessential Brands Group CEO and co-founder, Warren Scott, and other members of the Quintessential Brands team also included in the crew.
Scott comments; “The maritime world is an integral part of Opihr’s identity as it was the adventurers who sailed along the Ancient Spice route, discovering new spices and botanicals, who were the inspiration for Opihr Gin, which is winning fans around the world. We are therefore delighted to be continuing our partnership with Sunsail and bringing our Spirit of Adventure to the wider sailing community.”
