A team of colleagues from international spirits company, Quintessential Brands, is set to embark on a 340-mile bike ride next month, traversing the hills and valleys of England, Wales and Ireland over five days in aid of St. Rocco’s Hospice in Warrington, the home town of the company’s renowned distillery, G&J Distillers.
Dubbed The Road to Dublin Bike Ride, the riders will start their epic journey at G&J Distillers in Warrington on Friday 26th April, cycling down to Wales through Snowdonia before taking a ferry across the Irish Sea. Once on the Emerald Isle, their first destination will be First Ireland Spirits, the company’s Irish cream distillery in Abbeyleix in County Laois, the heartland of Ireland’s dairy industry, before setting their sights on Dublin. The ride will end on Tuesday 30th April at the Dublin Liberties Distillery, which the company opened earlier this year to much acclaim.
The ride will see the team – which includes CEO and Co-Founder, Warren Scott – climb over 18,000ft in total. The remaining members of the team riding the full 340 miles are:
Kris Dickenson – Group Integration Director, Quintessential Brands Group
Shane Hoyne – Chief Marketing Officer, Quintessential Brands Group
John Jeffrey – Regional Sales Manager, Quintessential Brands UK
Russell Kirkham – Marketing Director, Quintessential Brands UK
Jonathan Marsh – Managing Director, Quintessential Brands EMEA
Robert Milton – Global Brand Director, Opihr Gin, Quintessential Brands Group
Henry Street – Finance Manager, Quintessential Brands Group
Stuart Varey – Regional Sales Manager, Quintessential Brands UK
They will be joined for the Irish leg of the bike ride by Sinead O’Frighil – Global Marketing Director, Irish Brands, Quintessential Brands Group.
The Quintessential Brands team has set up a fundraising page to receive donations for St Rocco’s and are asking friends of the company to give generously so they can achieve their target of £20,000 for the hospice, which provides specialist care and support across Warrington, helping those who are coping with life-limiting illnesses. About St Rocco’s
St Rocco’s Hospice provides specialist care and support across Warrington, helping those who are coping with life-limiting illnesses. All of the care St Rocco’s provides is free but less than a fifth of their funding is provided by the NHS; the rest comes directly from the community via sponsored events, legacies and charitable donations. Without the money raised by the community, St Rocco’s would be unable to provide the vital care their patients require.
Warren Scott, CEO and Co-Founder of Quintessential Brands Group, comments, “Warrington has been the home of G&J Distillers for centuries and has a special place in our hearts, and in the history of our company, as the home of so many of our colleagues, past and present. We’re proud to be an integral part of the Warrington community, like St Rocco’s, which has provided invaluable support to some of our team over the years.
The Road to Dublin Bike Ride is going to be quite a challenge for many of us taking part, but we’re determined to raise as much money as we can to help the St Rocco’s team and give back to the local community.”
