A Limited Release Irish Whiskey from The Dublin Liberties Distillery launches today. The Dublin Liberties Copper Alley is a 10 Year Old Single Malt, finished in 30 Year Old Oloroso Sherry Casks, hand-selected by Master Distiller, Darryl McNally. The Dublin Liberties Copper Alley joins The Dublin Liberties Oak Devil as the second expression in the range of Premium Irish Whiskies.The Limited Release whiskey is double barrelled, with 10 years in Bourbon casks and finished in 30 year old Oloroso Sherry casks for six months. There are only 31 Sherry casks of this unique whiskey which is non chill-filtered and bottled at 46%.Master Distiller, Darryl McNally, says: ‘My inspiration for Copper Alley was going back to the original methods of Irish whiskey making. Having rested for 10 years in Bourbon casks, I felt it just needed something extra to really bring it to life. Working with our cask partners, I came across some 30 year old Sherry casks of exceptional quality which I knew would give the whiskey an edge. This is a one off – there are only 31 casks, so this is a whiskey which will be little repeated.”
This is the second expression released in The Dublin Liberties range, following on from the successful launch of The Dublin Liberties Oak Devil in 2015. The Dublin Liberties Copper Alley is named after one of the oldest and most raucous streets in Dublin, where tanners, tradesmen and taverns traded alongside whiskey distilleries of old. The whiskey reflects the original methods of Irish Whiskey making and will be produced in The Dublin Liberties Distillery, located in the heart of Dublin’s historic distilling district.
On global release from September 2016, The Dublin Liberties Copper Alley guideline price is from €65 – €69 for 70cl.

The Dublin Liberties Oak Devil Irish Whiskey was launched in 2015 and is a non chill-filtered 46% blend of malt and grain whiskies – extra aged, extra strength and non-chill filtered. Winner of GOLD at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2016, it takes its name from the Liberties area of Dublin, a riotous quarter of the city known as ‘Hell’ where, in the 1700s, an oak-carved devil stood watch over the entrance.
