The Dubliner Irish Whiskey has collaborated with three of Ireland’s top comedians to create the Young Hot Guyz Calendar 2021/22, with proceeds from sales going to Gay Community New (GCN), a free-of-charge information service for Ireland’s LGBTQ+ community since 1988.
Available from www.thedld.com from this month and priced at €20, the calendar is a tongue-in-cheek play on the Hot Girl Summer trend that has dominated social media in recent years. The calendar features the three popular comedians – Tony Cantwell, Shane Dan Byrne and Killian Sundermann – in a variety of humorous poses, which together can only be described as erotic art from the 90s.
This latest initiative from The Dubliner follows the brand’s recent re-brand, with a new look bottle and marketing campaign launched in March this year in the brand’s home market, before being rolled out to key markets globally throughout the year. The new activity from the Dubliner aims to breathe new life into the category, moving Irish Whiskey away from tired tropes to focus on contemporary Dublin culture, with the aim of broadening the appeal of Irish whiskey.
Bronagh Hunt, Global Brand Director for The Dubliner at brand owner, Quintessential Brands, comments: “We’re so grateful so the guys were so keen to get on board with this calendar to help us to raise money for GCN, an organisation who do so much to support the LGBTQ+ community here in Ireland. They really threw themselves into it, but then who wouldn’t be keen to immortalise such evident magnetism and raw beauty?! After the last year or so, I think we all value a bit of light relief more than ever and after one look through this calendar, it’s pretty much impossible not to feel cheerier so I hope it raises a smile or two as well as raising a lot of money for charity.”
Behind the scenes mockumentary footage can also be seen on the brand’s social channels including Instagram and Facebook.
