Thomas Dakin Gin is delighted to report that the recent ‘pop up’ bar in the Biza Tax & Duty Free store at Manchester Airport was one of the store’s most successful spirits activations to date. The Thomas Dakin Bar in Terminal 1 served signature ‘Tom & Tonics’ and ‘Manchester Bee’ cocktails to travellers en route to the Departure gates, for a four week period during June 2016. Thomas Dakin is on sale in all three Manchester Airport Terminals and is proving a popular gift purchase, with the added appeal that the gin’s heritage is rooted in Manchester.
Thomas Dakin is a small batch gin created by Master Distiller Joanne Moore in 2015 and distilled in a baby pot still, to a secret recipe with eleven botanicals including the popular 18th Century botanical, red cole or horseradish.

The Thomas Dakin Gin bar at the brand’s home airport is part of an integrated plan in travel retail to showcase the small batch gin to travellers in key airports across Europe.
There will be considerable focus on, and investment in, Manchester given that this is Thomas Dakin’s home airport. A month of Thomas Dakin promotional activity in travel retail at Heathrow Airport begins in early August.
