The team at Thomas Dakin Gin is delighted to announce that its small batch Thomas Dakin Gin has been honoured with the highest Award, the Masters Award, in the Super Premium category at The Gin Masters 2017 which were announced last week.
The judging took place at The Holy Birds restaurant in London, where sixteen spirits experts judged each drink according to appearance, nose, taste and overall balance.
Thomas Dakin Gin was judged amongst other world class gins in the Super Premium category, where it was one of only six gins awarded the Master Award. The panel of judges “unanimously loved the ‘big and spicy’ Thomas Dakin”, according to The Spirits Business.

Thomas Dakin Gin is a classic style London Dry Gin handcrafted in small batches using the finest botanicals and inspired by Thomas Dakin, the forefather of quality English gin.
Distilled in a baby copper pot still, Thomas Dakin is a traditional juniper-led gin with notes of sweet orange and citrus and enlivened by an infusion of distinctive red cole (horseradish), a root botanical used in refreshing cordials in 18th century northern England, which gives the gin its long, lingering finish.
Thomas Dakin was a young entrepreneur who, at the age of 25, began distilling his gin in the north of England. In 1761, before the outset of the Industrial Revolution, he pioneered the development and refinement of high-quality English gin, before anyone else.
