Quintessential Brands announces the launch of the new Toussaint Coffee Rum Liqueur website www.toussaint-liqueur.com
The website highlights the story which inspired the brand and the history of Toussaint L’Ouverture, the revolutionary slave leader who led the people of Haiti to freedom in the late 1700s. Created by Drinksology, the website represents a new take on an old technology – diorama. Richard Ryan of Drinksology says: “The unique concept for the Toussaint Liqueur website represents a wholly new take on an old technology.”
Toussaint International Brand Development Manager, Sinead O’Frighil, explains: “We based the approach on a diorama – a technique traditionally used to replicate historical scenes or events by building up flat layers of imagery to create a sense of shifting perspective. With its period illustrations, the diorama concept lends an appropriately historical feel to the site and the brand. On the section of the site relating to the biography of Toussaint L’Overture himself, parallax scrolling is used finishing with a cinematic fade-out.” Richard adds: “Translating those real-world processes to a digital environment was challenging, but the result is very striking and effective.”
Owned by Quintessential Brands, this super premium coffee rum liqueur, made with aged Caribbean rum and high quality Arabica coffee beans, was re-introduced to the UK market in October 2013 and is distributed via Marblehead.
