Fragrant Harbour, created by Jo Macbeth, who runs the bar at Rub Smokehouse in Nottingham, won this year’s Opihr World Adventure Cocktail Competition in Morocco beating four other finalists from London, Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands.
The judges in Marrakech were impressed by his alluring concoction of gin blending with flavours of lemon verbena, almonds and orange blossom, fresh ginger, cinnamon and star anise, which was served in a silver teapot.
Fragrant Harbour
55ml Opihr Oriental Spiced Gin,
15ml green tea and lemon verbena infused Lillet Blanc,
20ml homemade spiced orgeat (using almonds, sugar, orange blossom water, star anise, cinnamon and ginger),
20ml fresh lemon juice.
Shake and strain the ingredients into a Moroccan teapot and serve in tea glasses.
